90210 actress Shenae Grimes has been plagued by rumors saying she suffers from anorexia ever since she landed the role of Annie Wilson on the CW show.
Aside from being called “anorexic,” Grimes, 19, has also been dubbed a “diva” and a “party girl” in the tabloids, all of which she denies in the new issue of People Magazine.
“Nobody has asked me about it. I really can’t help what someone thinks of me because they are reading a paper and choosing to believe it.”
Other 90210 cast members have also been called anorexic in the press and Grimes, who is 5-foot-3-inches, says she’s been thin all her life.
“It’s so frustrating. Meet me in person, and you can’t say anything. No bones sticking out. Just because people are calling you skinny doesn’t mean I’m like, ‘Yay!’ No! You’re telling me I don’t look right. This is me, this is my body – I have accepted it.”
Reading many untrue stories about herself in gossip magazines, has made her second guess everything she’s ever read about other people.
“These are stories that have been written about everybody. Of course we’re the new girls on a hit show so we’re plopped into these little boxes. And people buy it. It makes me totally second guess anything I’ve ever read about anybody.”
