No Prenup for Reese & Ryan

Uh oh, you know it’s bound to get ugly when celebrities don’t sign a prenup. TMZ first reported that Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement when they wed in 1999.

The financial blow will be big for Witherspoon, 30, if the couple — who announced their separation Monday — ends up divorcing.

Earlier this year, Witherspoon surpassed Julia Roberts as the highest paid actress in Hollywood, commanding $29 million a movie, while Phillippe, 32, makes roughly $2.5 million a film.

Under California law, without a prenup, earnings during a marriage are divided up 50/50.

Sources tell TMZ that there’s no talk of reconciliation and that the divorce will be amicable for the sake of the children.
