Goodbye, Doug and Carrie Heffernan

I can’t believe this! I didn’t even know the show was ending - don’t they have to warn people? Or was I the only one who didn’t know? This is sad, sad sad sad! King of Queens is one of my favorite shows ever, and I thought it was the kind of show that could go on forever (ok, it has been running for 9 years, but, that’s not forever!). The cast and crew got together one last time, yesterday evening, at the King of Queens Series Wrap Party, held in Hollywood.

Leah Remini, who played Carrie Heffernan, wrote the following on her official site not long ago:

“Well, we are taping our final episodes these last couple of weeks and I have to say it is so sad. We are all trying to put on a good face like, “We will see each other,” but it’s just not the same. We know we will see each other and keep in touch, but it is so weird to look around the set and think I won’t be coming here everyday. After nine years, it will be hard to say Good-Bye to that set. It has been my second home, so many memories……

I believe these new episodes air in April. I will let you know when CBS gives us the dates on that.

I really want to thank you guys for supporting the show in the way that you have. It really warms my heart. I read the Sony message board from time to time and am always so happy to see that you all keep it positive. Thank you.

I don’t know what is next for me, (other than crying my eyes out for our final episodes) But, I will keep you all posted. J

We’re sad too, Leah! Thanks for making us laugh for 9 years. Carrie and Doug will be sorely missed *sniff*

There are still a few more laughs to come, though. The next new episode will air on April 9th, and the final episode will air in late May 2007.
