Life & Style magazine caused quite a stir with last week’s blockbuster cover story that claimed Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were basically finished but were planning on keeping up appearances until the baby was born.

That brought swift denials from Camp TomKat and of course, threats of a lawsuit.

A Life & Style spokesman told The National Ledger that the weekly stands behind their story “100 percent.” And now L&S is set to publish round 2 in this week’s edition.

The weekly presents a very detailed story again in this week’s Friday edition that will reveal the secrets of the split.

“One thing Katie hates about Tom,” says an insider, “is that his image means so much to him. Katie knows their relationship isn’t going to work, and she doesn¹t like being part of a huge PR campaign.”

And her family isn’t going along with the charade. After the Life & Style story broke, an insider from Katie’s hometown of Toledo, Ohio, spoke to her dad, Martin Holmes. When asked if he wanted Tom and his daughter to reconcile, the insider says Martin blurted, “I hope not!” He told the insider that he intends to make sure Katie and her baby are financially set for life and that Katie will have custody of the child. “Right now,” Martin added, “all I want is for my little girl to be happy, and she isn’t.”
