Jessica Simpson @ 2006 Kennedy Center Honors
Jessica Simpson was one of the artists paying tribute to the legendary Dolly Parton at this past weekend’s Kennedy Center Honors.
However, what was supposed to be a joyous occasion for Simpson inexplicably turned into something sad very quickly.
As Jess was on stage singing 9 to 5 as part of a Dolly tribute, Simpson ended her performance abruptly with the words “so nervous” and quickly exited the stage. The stunned audience remained silent, giving her no applause.
Simpson appeared to be crying when she and other singers in the tribute returned to the stage.
Jessica attended the festivities with her parents, Papa Joe and Tina.
Hopefully they consoled her over whatever went wrong.
The Kennedy Center Honors airs December 26th at 9 PM on CBS.
