Mary-Kate Olsen looks super cute in the current issue of Entertainment Weekly. Mary-Kate and her sister Ashley are known for covering themselves up whenever there’s paparazzi around and for being “the good girls” because they don’t ever pull a Britney or a Lindsay — appreciate it girls! Mary-Kate tells EW the reason why she looks so grumpy in ever tabloid shot: ”I don’t want my picture taken,” she says simply. ”The only time I think it’s okay is at a red-carpet event or a photo shoot. So every time I see paparazzi, I cover my face so they don’t get a picture, and I’m just ‘the mean person who doesn’t smile.”

To maintain some semblance of privacy, she makes ”conscious decisions every day of my life.” Don’t get out of the car, keep the bodyguards close, steer clear of certain stores, invite friends over for dinner instead of meeting them at a restaurant, stay indoors. ”I would love to be able to swim in the ocean in Malibu,” she says without bitterness. ”But that is asking for a bikini shot. That’s inviting something that I don’t want to happen. I don’t need to be on a ‘Who’s Skinny, Who’s Fat, Who’s Looking Healthy, Who’s Not Eating?’ list.”

A gorgeous looking Ashley Olsen and a dead looking Mary-Kate Olsen attended the Hampton SOCIAL @ Ross With James Taylor event held a couple of days ago. They’re both such gorgeous girls (obviously, they look the same!) and I don’t know why Mary-Kate insists on looking like a homeless goth. It’s not just the outfit, sometimes she wears real funky clothes that only she can get away with, but it’s also the make-up and that look of deadness (is that a word? ha!) in her eyes. I do admire her for daring to be different and wear whatever she wants though. Check out their outfits below.

I wanna say, Mary-Kate? I’m pretty sure it is. Ahem, Mary-Kate Olsen went for a late dinner with pals at Il Sole in Hollywood yesterday. After the meal, Mary-Kate and her friends rushed past photographers, jumped into their car and made a speedy exit.

I have newfound respect for these two, for a pretty simple (and kinda silly) reason — because they didn’t go out and get stinkin’ drunk on their 21st birthday, which made me realize that we never see these girls crazy drunk, doing drugs, flashing their privates or getting DUI’s. We all know Lindsay Lohan is going to get drunk, do drugs, flash her privates and what not, on her 21st, which is being celebrated next month with a huge bash at Pure in Las Vegas. But the cute Olsen twins celebrated their big day with a low-key family dinner at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood. Guests included their sister Lizzie, 19, and brother Trent, 23. A source told People magazine the inside scoop:

“It looked like a family dinner,” an onlooker tells People Magazine, “You could tell they were all really close. The girls couldn’t stop smiling.”

A little after 11 p.m., two red velvet cakes – one covered in white frosting and the other in black – were brought out as the table burst into “Happy Birthday.” Their friends cheered as the girls closed their eyes and blew out the candles.

Soon after the cake was cut, another treat arrived: To the delight of the guests, boxes of cupcakes were served between the tea lights and petite vases of cut pink and white flowers dotting the table.

While the champagne and wine continued to flow, each guest took a turn raising a glass and saying a few words about the girls. Between cheers and laughter at inside jokes, the sisters posed for pictures taken with a vintage Polaroid camera, then anxiously crowded over the developing photos before laughing at the results.

Though there were plenty of gifts on the table, the true present for Mary-Kate was the guy sitting next to her. After giving the last toast, the 20-something blond kissed her lovingly before she jumped into his lap and gave him a peck on his chin. As she looked through her birthday cards, he brushed her cheek with one hand and caressed the back of her sheer black dress.

Mary-Kate Olsen was spotted on Monday afternoon shopping for a gift for twin-sis Ashley, at Antiquarius jewelry store in Beverly Hills. The twins turned the big 21 on Wednesday — more on that later.

Mary-Kate Olsen also appeared at the 2007 CFDA Fashion Awards held a couple of days ago in New York City.

It wasn’t just Ashley who was in a good mood last night — sister Mary-Kate Olsen was smiling too! Great to see!

The Olsens Want Nose Jobs

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are supposedly planning to get matching noses. The Olsen twins recently had a consultation with Dr. Raj Kanodia about getting nose jobs together.

The idea for getting a rhinoplasty was apparently Ashley’s (the blonde half of the twins), according to a source that spoke with In Touch Weekly. “Ashley has always thought her nose was a little too big, so she wanted to get it done.” “When she talked to her sister about it, she loved the idea.” The Olsens thought that getting a nose job would make them look more “polished”.
