Not really! Jessica Simpson is pictured above filming a scene for her new comedy Major Movie Star. When fluffy, bubble gum movie star Megan Valentine (Jessica) suddenly finds herself broke and humiliated in the public eye, she wanders from the wreckage of a car accident and witlessly enlists in the U.S. Army hoping in vain that it will change her life.

Jessica Simpson has, I’m sorry to say, been looking kind of weird and creepy lately, but, at the Michael Kors fashion show earlier today Jessica looked flawless! No plastic smile, no weird pose, nice hair and make-up = flawless! Newlyweds Jessica is back….and hopefully staying!

Jessica Simpson was not popular at the W Magazine New York Affair party held a couple of days. Simpson reportedly acted like a diva. A guest at the party told Us Weekly that it was extremely hot and guests kept retreating to the balcony to cool off and get some fresh air. However, when Simpson arrived publicists cleared out the entire patio for her and her posse, angering the crowd and causing most of the guests to leave. “It was so hot and she got the whole thing just for herself? I am livid,” one eyewitness told the gossip mag. Once outside, Simpson talked mostly to her mane man hairdresser Ken Paves and danced while publicists fiercely guarded the door and wouldn’t let any other guests on the patio.

Jessica Simpson looked super glamorous, maybe even a bit too glam, as she touched down at JFK airport in New York City yesterday. Last time Jessica was spotted by the paps she was carrying around a tacky YSL handbag with a deer antler as the handle — glad to see she got rid of that and brought back the always lovely Louis V bags, that she herself calls “Pet Louis”, because she takes them with her everywhere she goes.

According to a report in this week’s Star magazine, Jessica Simpson branded the Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo hot tub pictures “tacky” — and quite rightfully so! The magazine cites a source that says, “Jess was lunching with some friends and someone brought up the hot tub pictures. Jessica scrunched up her nose, made a face and said, ‘That is sooo tacky. Have some modesty!” The source added, “Jessica thinks that carrying on like that was classless. She suspects Vanessa knew she was being photographed and played to the cameras. She wouldn’t put it past her to have staged the scene.”

Meanwhile, OK! Magazine have reportedly paid $400,000 for the exclusive rights to the photos of Nick and Vanessa getting down and dirty in a hot tub in Mexico. Reports say that the mag only bought the pictures to keep them off the market and to keep Nick and Vanessa happy. After all, the couple did give OK! their first ever interview and photo shoot.

A source said, “There’s much worse stuff than what got out there on the Internet. If Nick’s fans saw it all, it would definitely change his career, because he kind of has a squeaky-clean image.”

Jessica Simpson is on the cover of August’s Harper’s Bazaar and inside the mag she talks a bit about Newlyweds, plastic surgery, and about how she dresses for men. Excerpts below:

On people’s changing perceptions of her since her Newlyweds days:
“I don’t think people really know me anymore. Everybody used to see my day-to-day life; you saw a lot of my personality and my goofiness…I like falling on my face and getting up again, because everybody does it. Everybody has burped at the dinner table once in her life and said excuse me, you know?”

On the subtle differences between her and sister Ashlee Simpson:
“The difference between me and my sister – she goes to a thrift store and can buy something for 20 bucks, and I have to go buy a black button-down at Barneys. For $900. Because it’s a collector’s item.”

On whether she would ever have plastic surgery:
“I love the bump in my nose. People have said that I’ve had things like a jaw replacement or implant or something. I’m photographed everyday of my life and have never worn any bandages or anything, so how could that be right? But maybe after having kids, if my boobs dropped down to my belly button, I would get them lifted…Maintenance. But you know, my boobs are real.”

On who all the effort is for:
“I dress for men. I dress for men and myself. If I’m dressing for men, then I know it’s good for myself!”

Jessica Simpson looked so cute, in an orange maxi-dress, as she left a Mexican restaurant in the Valley yesterday evening. Jess seemed to be in high spirits, despite news that her new movie Blonde Ambition isn’t doing so well at all. Sources say Jessica’s manager dad, Papa Joe, has pushed back the release date twice because the movie is no good.

“First, the release date was set for August 3, and then it was delayed until the last week of August,” says an insider. “Papa Joe then intervened and said he wasn’t comfortable with the level of competition from other films that month.” Another source says: “Jessica was not very focused on-set and flubbed her lines often. She always had her dog around, was on the phone with [then-] boyfriend John Mayer or was sitting in a warmed-up SUV.”

The film, which is still incomplete, is currently without a firm release date.

Jessica Simpson looked super cute in jeans as she arrived at Hollywood restaurant Angelini, last night. Meanwhile, Jessica wrote a message to her fans again, on unofficial fan site SweetKisses.Net:

“Hey you guys! Just wanted to say hi and give you an update on what’s going on these days. First off, I am obsessed with The Wreckers “Stand Still, Look Pretty” album. It represents everything going on in my life right now and I just can’t stop listening to it. You should all check it out!!

On another note, I have been working my butt off trying to get in shape physically and mentally for Major Movie Star. Looks like I gotta go join the Army!! Everything in life is an experience and I am really looking forward to this one!!
