The lovely Reese Witherspoon brought along her mini-me, daughter Ava, out to run some errands over the weekend in Brentwood. After picking up the dry cleaning, the two made a quick stop for a drink — Reese getting her usual coffee, while Ava settled for lemonade. Reese recently had to deny rumors of an engagement to Jake Gyllenhaal. Rumors starting going around the two got engaged in Italy, but Reese’s rep says “There’s not one ounce of truth to it.”
Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon are smitten kittens. The two, who have yet to admit they’re dating, promoted their new movie Rendition at the Toronto Film Festival today — And although they weren’t seated next to each other, for obvious reasons, the two kept eyeing one another, giggling and looking very lovey dovey. Ryan Phillippe is reportedly on edge over ex-wife Reese Witherspoon’s new love interest, Jake Gyllenhaal US Weekly reports. “Ryan is pissed about Jake,” a Phillippe friend says, adding that Ryan told Reese “he didn’t want ‘that guy’ around their kids and then made some crude Brokeback Mountain remark.” A friend of Reese’s says, “Reese doesn’t have Jake spend the night when the kids are around.”
Though Ryan may be angry that Reese is moving on, his feelings for Aussie actress Abbie Cornish are strong. A source says, “They have been hanging out [again] since June.” On August 5, the pair were seen strolling together in L.A.’s Franklin Canyon Park.“They were laughing,” says an onlooker, “and obviously enjoying themselves.”

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are very much a couple, a few “friends” of the couple have said. Now the same great friends are telling all the weeklies exactly why Reese fell for Jake.
At first they seemed like an unlikely match: Gyllenhaal, her costar in the upcoming CIA thriller Rendition, was already an acquaintance – he was an old workout buddy of Phillippe – and they didn’t have much screen time together while filming for eight weeks in Morocco.
But during a reshoot in L.A., “Jake went and reintroduced himself to Reese,” a source close to both stars tells People in its new issue.
And from there, what a friend of Witherspoon’s calls “their little flirtation” just took its course. “Things slowly progressed, but it was never something she thought would happen from the start. She just kind of developed this little crush over time.”
One that is looking a lot like a real romance – even when the duo are apart. While Witherspoon, 31, spent Easter Sunday with daughter Ava, 7, and son Deacon, 3, at her Episcopal church in Beverly Hills, Gyllenhaal, 26, strolled around Venice, Calif., with his parents. According to a source close to both him and Witherspoon, familial devotion is a big part of their connection: “Jake finds it attractive that she’s such a great mom. He really loves kids and wants a family.”

The pair worked together last year on the film Rendition; earlier this month they were spotted spending time together in New York, fueling mounting speculation they were more than just friends, and today celebrity gossip blogger Perezhilton.com is reporting that the pair are 100% on.
“They are 100% dating,” a friend revealed to the website. “Reese and Jake are being smart about things and keeping their relationship very discrete and out of the public eye.”
Jake Gyllenhaal wants to be a hands on parent… but just not too hands on.
The 26-year-old actor has recently admitted that his plans to be an involved uncle, to sister Maggie’s new daughter, did not go as planned.
Everything was going fine for Gyllenhaal and his niece, Ramona, until it was time to change her diaper.
He revealed, “I’m an uncle. It’s great. It’s amazing - except for the diaper changing, which I did once and will never go back to again until it is my own child. I wanted to try it out. I wanted to see what it was like. So she handed me my niece and I put her down on the changing table and I unknotted her organic diaper. I really never knew, and I am naive, of course, but I never knew that it was orange. I have a very short gag reflex. So when I saw it [I started gagging]. I [was gagging]” and handed her back!”
However, the actor hasn’t been completely turned off by the idea of passing on his gorgeous genes.
He recently said, “I definitely want to have kids. I hope that I’ll be a good father, a conscious father, a mindful father.”

The brown cowboy hat worn by Jake Gyllenhaal in the Academy Award nominated film ‘Brokeback Mountain’ is now for sale on ebay.
The hat comes with a certificate of authenticity. At time of writing, the bidding for it on the auction website has reached US $10,100 (NZ$14,636).
Proceeds from the sale will go to Variety Children’s Charity, who assist addicted, abused, neglected and physically-challenged children in Southern California.
The charity has previously benefited from similarly auctioned items including shirts from Brokeback Mountain, tickets to the final of American Idol, and the car from the movie ‘Herbie Fully Loaded’.
