Evanescence Split (Sorta)

Evanescence Split

Rock band Evanescence can’t seem to keep it’s original members. When the band first started out and was about to hit it big, David Hodges decided to bail at the last minute. Later on, during their European tour in 2003, Ben Moody left the band, and now Rocky Gray (left) and John LeCompt (right) have both left — leaving only front singer Amy Lee as the only original member.

LeCompt claims he was fired and has no nice words to say about Lee, calling her “about as deep as the shallow end of a child’s wading pool and her lyrics about as deep as the two-dimensional surface that they were written on” — ouch!

Meanwhile Amy released the following statement regarding Rocky and John’s sudden departure:

“Evanescence is alive and well. John and Rocky were in Evanescence for four years and we shared some great times together playing live, but they were ready to move on and so we have parted ways. Evanescence is something I have loved and nurtured since I was fourteen, and I will continue to protect and fight for it as I always have. Terry, Tim and I are very excited to play live with some amazing new musicians and we will rock harder than ever. Stay tuned for more news on that front. And don’t worry about the tour, guys. Nothing will be cancelled and we will see you soon!”

Evanescence Steps Through The Open Door

April 29th, 2006

Following the multi-platinum, worldwide success of their major-label debut, Fallen, Evanescence is poised to build upon their respected position in the rock community with their sophomore effort, The Open Door, from Wind-up Records in stores October 3, 2006.
With what some call a meteoric rise to the top, Fallen brought the Little Rock, Arkansas band to global success with 14 million records in the hands of fans worldwide, two Top 10 singles, My Immortal and Bring Me To Life, two Grammy Awards in 2003 (Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance for Bring Me To Life). Fallen spent over one hundred weeks on Billboard Magazines Top 200 chart, was certified gold or platinum in over 35 countries Worldwide, and supported sold-out arenas globally.

I am SO friggin excited about this album! Prepare for Evanescence to take the world by storm again!
