If you’re not from Britain, or are the sort of person who knows exactly who’s a somebody in Little Britain, then you probably won’t know who Coleen McLoughlin is. Let me tell ya — she is, first of all, the fiancee of British footballer Wayne Rooney, but she is also now known as a style icon and an author. She has quite a few endorsement deals, a fitness DVD and a book (above left picture) called Welcome To My World.
She started out being “just” Wayne’s fiancee, but has now made a name for herself. She is constantly on the pages of various gossip magazines, and even did a spread for Vogue. I guess what makes this girl, who turned 21 this month, different from all the other footballer’s wives and girlfriends, is that she is so normal, sweet, down to earth and grateful for what she’s got. You may not think so if you read about her in the tabloids, because of course they are going to make up stupid things to make her look bad, but if you read her book you will adore her! I for one am not much for all these autobiographies celebrities write when they haven’t even turned 20 yet, but this book is not one of those. Coleen herself says it is not an autobiography, but purely a look into a world of a young woman who’s world was suddenly turned upside down by the popularity of her boyfriend.
I recently purchased this book and have been reading it everyday for hours at a time — it’s brilliant! Coleen is funny, down to earth, open, honest, interesting and full of great stories, tips and advice. It’s a must for any girl who is interested in fashion, fame and a glimpse of what it’s really like to be Coleen McLoughlin. It’s only been 3 days and I’m nearly finished reading it — I want a sequel!
