It’s been a very long time since I’ve posted about Britney Spears, but since there is finally some good news to report, it’s time to add a little Brit to this site again.
2008 started out pretty rocky for Britney, she lost all visitation rights in early January when she was put on 72-hour mental lockdown (even though she only stayed for less than 24 hours).
Since January 3rd Britney has not seen her kids or even spoken to them on the phone, but today, after spending weeks apart from their mom, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, got to spend 3 hours with their momma.
The boys were driven by a bodyguard from Kevin Federline’s home to Britney’s Studio City house this morning, where they were greeted by Britney and her father, Jamie Spears, who’s been looking out for his daughter in recent weeks, and is the one who made the visit possible.
A source involved in the case says, “The real hero was Jamie. He has taken charge, and she has visitation again.”
Both Jamie and Britney’s psychiatrist were present for the visit.
Britney Spears’s sleazy new paparazzi boyfriend didn’t always look so sleazy. Look at this old shot taken when Adnan Ghalib still lived in Birmingham, England. This is the guy who thinks he’s so cool, making money off a sick person, who should be helped, not taken advantage of.
Former Friends actress Courteney Cox-Arquette has defended her decision to base a character, on the second season of her show Dirt, on troubled Britney Spears. Cox plans to use Britney’s antics — including her divorce and custody battle, and her bizarre head-shaving incident — as inspiration for the show’s second season. But Cox — an executive producer on the show — claims Spears shouldn’t take offense. She says, “This is not an attack on Britney. I am not out to offend anyone.”

A short clip of Britney Spears’s new music video Piece of Me has been released, and it actually doesn’t look that bad. Britney, of course, is barely moving, even though dancing is what she does best, but she looks good at least, and the video looks way more professional than her last - Gimme More. Things are not looking too good for Britney Spears in the heated custody battle between her and Kevin Federline. Who’s to blame? Britney herself! Britney and Kevin’s attorneys met at a hearing yesterday, where Kevin’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan said that Spears lives in a “parallel universe,” and reminded the court that the singer had been reprimanded three times by Commissioner Scott Gordon for failing to be reachable by phone. “Mr. Federline doesn’t want to take these children out of their mother’s life, but what are we to do?” Kaplan said. Spears did not respond in a timely manner to 8 of 14 random drug test requests.

What’s there to say about Britney Spears‘ disastrous VMA performance that hasn’t already been said by countless other bloggers? I was truly hoping Britney would kick ass with her performance and prove us all wrong for once. It was either that, or exactly what most people expected - a complete and utter disaster. Unfortunately, she didn’t prove anyone wrong, she proved us right. Britney seemed lifeless on stage, completely out of it and bored. We all know she never sings live, so we expected the lip-syncing, but she barely moved her mouth. Ok, so bad lip-syncing, we can deal with that because we’ve still got the awesome dancing, right? Nope. Not only did she barely move her mouth, she barely moved at all. And don’t even get me started on the outfit - what was she thinking?! Yikes Brit, what happened to you? Britney Spears looks really cute and so happy posing with P Diddy at his party at PURE nightclub in Vegas last night. Diddy, on the other hand, could not look more bored, uncomfortable and embarrassed. Is taking a picture with Britney too much for ya, Diddy/Daddy/Puffy? Can’t blame him though. Britney isn’t the princess of pop anymore and anyone who is seen with her, well, let’s just say people try not to be seen with her - poor thing. I hope for her sake she kicks ass tomorrow night at the VMA’s.
Britney Spears will be opening the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. Celebrating her long awaited comeback to her fans, Spears will be performing LIVE her new song “Gimme More” from her highly anticipated new album due on November 13th. The star studded awards show will air live Sunday, September 9th at 9PM Live ET/Tape delayed PT.

In the last week or so, quite a few new Britney Spears songs have somehow leaked, and they were all pretty sh!t — but then the right one leaked — the comeback single — it’s called Gimme More and is already getting a lot of airplay and pretty good reviews. Britney Spears actually looks half decent on the September issue of Allure magazine. It looks like they managed to get some good shots of Brit, but the interview didn’t go as well as planned. Pick up the new issue for all about the disastrous day Allure had with the troubled mother of two.
