Ashlee, who is rumored to be expecting a boy, wore a black tank top and black flowing skirt while doing some grocery shopping over the weekend in Studio City, California.

Meanwhile, Ashlee’s husband Pete Wentz has revealed that he talks to their unborn baby “all the time.” Pete says he’s been reading Armin Brott’s birthing guide ‘The Expectant Father.’

He says: “I talk to our baby all the time. ‘The Expectant Father’ tells you that the woman, when she speaks, the baby hears her all the time. And the father’s voice isn’t familiar unless you talk to it, so I talk to it all the time.”

Pete, 29, also hinted the baby won’t be the last for the happy couple, who married in an intimate ceremony in May. He told People magazine: “This is the first one so we’ll have to base the next one on how we do on the first one!”

Ashlee Simpson and husband Pete Wentz have ended weeks of speculation by confirming they are indeed expecting their first child together.

The happy couple, who got married last week, wrote a joint statement on Wentz’s website:

“While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child.”

“This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family.”

Ashlee, who has changed her name to Ashlee Wentz but will go by Ashlee Simpson-Wentz professionally, told People after the wedding, “I would love to have a big family one day.”

Say hello to Mr. and Mrs. Wentz.

Ashlee Simpson married Pete Wentz yesterday evening at her parent’s Los Angeles home. They spokesperson released the following statement: “We’re delighted to confirm that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were married this evening in front of family and close friends.”

Ashlee, 23, wore an ivory lace wedding gown by Monique Lhuillier accessorized with a diamond necklace and earrings by Neil Lane as she and Pete, 28, exchanged vows in front of 150 guests, including Ashlee’s maid of honor, sister Jessica Simpson, and Nicole Richie and her boyfriend Joel Madden.

Ashlee’s dad Joe Simpson performed the non-denominational ceremony, while Wentz’s English bulldog, Hemingway, was the ring-bearer.

Ashlee Simpson knows her last single Outta My Head didn’t do well, in fact, she knows it sucked, but she’s not fazed. The younger Simpson has just released a new single, that will hopefully do better, called Little Miss Obsessive (check it out after the jump) - And to celebrate she performed live at The Underground in Chicago yesterday. Wearing purple skinny jeans, flats and a black zip hoodie, Ashlee looked like her old punk self.

Ashlee Simpson reads holiday stories at “Vapps’ Holiday Storybook” event at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA a couple of days ago in Westwood, California. “We are thrilled to have Ashlee Simpson join us in giving children throughout the country this wonderful interactive experience for the holidays,” said founder Ben Lilienthal, prior to the event.

Ashlee Simpson hasn’t done much music-wise lately, but she is appearing on the red carpet at various fashion events. Plastic Ashlee walked the red carpet at the 4th Annual Fashion Rocks at Radio City yesterday, and she went to some fashion shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week earlier this week.

Seventeen magazine cover-girl Ashlee Simpson makes some lucky girls’ day with an autograph session and a meet and greet in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Ashlee spent the day with the back-to-school contest winners during a day of beauty at pal Ken Paves’s salon. Lucky them!

Dressed in black from head to toe, on a hot LA day, a low-key and quiet Ashlee Simpson was spotted leaving the doctors office a couple of days ago. Either Ashlee hasn’t been going out much lately, or the paps just haven’t bothered to follow her around, because we don’t see much of this girl anymore.

Ashlee Simpson, looking cute, appeared at the Hot Hollywood 2007 event last evening. Miss Simpson did not bring her father this time (or at least they didn’t pose together), but recently spoke of him in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar saying “He is a wonderful man”, in regards to him being, according to the tabloids and some of Ashlee’s fans, a money-hungry and controlling father/manager. Suuuure.

Ashlee Simpson, whose third album is coming out this fall, opens up in the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar about the plastic surgery rumors, Britney Spears, her style and more. Interview excerpts below:

On changing her look and her rumored plastic surgery:
“I loved how I looked. I’m not an insecure person, nor was I before. It’s a personal choice. I believe if somebody chooses to do plastic surgery, it [should be] for yourself, not for anyone else.”

On her style:
“You know, I was never a dress person, but now, if I’m going to an event, I like to put one on. I have to feel comfortable no matter what. I love Alexander McQueen, and, oh, gosh, I love them all – Fendi, Chanel.”

On criticism she’s trying to look more like Jessica:
“Of course I look like her. She’s my sister. It’s like, God, please! We think it’s quite funny.”

On stars like Britney Spears who are publicly battling their demons:
“I think that they should probably move out of L.A. I think that their parents need to help them.”
