Mandy Moore: ‘I’m Not Nicole Richie’
Mandy Moore takes a swipe at Nicole Richie, who is the ex of Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein, whom Mandy is currently dating, in the upcoming issue of Seventeen magazine. Read what Mandy said below:
“Oh, God! I tell you what: In this industry it’s my job to look a certain way or whatnot — and it’s’ weird for men too. But I’m much happier to present this type of person. I’m not Nicole Richie. I’m not like a toothpick, and I will never be. I’m just a regular-looking person — and that’s okay. I’s taken a while to come to grips with that since its’ definitely not the norm in my business. But, like, who cares? If anything, that makes someone more special — or at least that’s what I tell myself. [Laughs]

Mandy Moore Struggled with Depression
Mandy Moore has a lot going for her, including a starring role opposite Diane Keaton in the upcoming comedy “Because I Said So.” Even so, she says she’s grappled with depression.
“A few months ago I felt really low, really sad. Depressed for no reason,” the 22-year-old actress-singer says in an interview in the February issue of Jane magazine, on newsstands Tuesday.
“I’m a very positive person, and I’ve always been glass-half-full,” she continues. “So it was like someone flipped a switch in me.”
Moore, newly single after high-profile relationships with actor Zach Braff and tennis standout Andy Roddick, says her recent split with Braff didn’t help matters.
“The breakup added to what I was going through, but it’s not the complete reason,” she tells the magazine. “It definitely doesn’t help if you’re already in that place … .”
Moore started out as a squeaky-clean teen singer and later crossed over into movies with featured roles in such films as “A Walk to Remember,” “Saved” and “American Dreamz.”
“I feel bad that people wasted their money on such trite, blah pop music,” says Moore about her earlier music.
Moore, who is working on a new record, has been looking inward a lot of late.
“I’ve been going through this really crazy time in my life _ it’s what I imagine people fresh out of college go through,” she says. “I’m asking myself life-altering questions, like `Who am I? Where do I fit in this world? What am I doing, what do I want to do? Am I living to my full potential?’”

DJ AM and Mandy Moore Getting Cozy
Mandy Moore and Adam Goldstein (aka DJ AM) - Nicole Richie’s ex - went on a date at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in LA.
A source close to Goldstein confirmed that the pair have recently started dating. “It’s really new. They’re in the beginning stages of getting to know each other,” the source says. “They’re very into each other. It’s very sweet.” The pair’s trip to the coffee shop was reportedly their fourth date this week. “She had a huge smile on her face,” said a witness. “When they left, they put their arms around each other.” Rumors flew that Moore might hook up with ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama after the two were spotted partying together in Miami over the New Year’s weekend, but a source says, “Even though she was with Wilmer in Miami, she and DJ made plans. They are seeing where it goes.” Moore’s rep doesn’t comment on her personal life, and Goldstein’s publicist hasn’t commented either.
A month or so ago there was a report DJ AM was trying desperately to find a famous girlfriend, due to him not being able to charge as much for DJ’ing now that he is no longer with Nicole Richie. Hmmm…

Nicole Richie is hanging up on ex-beau, Adam “DJ A.M.” Goldstein — for good. Tired of getting “constant” phone calls and text messages from him, Richie changed both her cellphone and home numbers, a source close to Richie tells Us Weekly.
“Nicole just wants to move on, but he won’t let go,” the source says. (After two years together, Richie, 25, and Goldstein, 33, split last December, briefly reconciled and then split a second time in May; she has been dating childhood pal Brody Jenner, 23, for about a month.)
Richie also told security guards at her West Hollywood condo to bar Goldstein from the building, says the source, who adds she’s considering changing her e-mail address as well. “Nicole thinks it’s unhealthy for them to talk and hopes A.M. will finally just leave her alone,” the source says.
A rep for Goldstein tells Us, “This whole story is utterly ridiculous.”
And a pal of the DJ also defends him: “If anything, it is the other way around,” the friend says. “She’s the one who calls him, and he wants nothing to do with her. He is very happy not to be with her and is dating other girls.”
