It seems that every movie Jessica Alba, who is pictured above covering her face at LAX, stars in automatically bombs — even if it’s a good movie. Good Luck Chuck didn’t do well at all, but I thought it was hilarious and it was good to see Alba playing goofy and funny, because playing a serious superhero just isn’t what she’s best at, in my opinion. Alba’s new movie Awake, which I think looks pretty good from the trailer (apart from her acting) only grossed $6 million on its opening weekend. Despite this, Alba said is was great to play a normal character for once. “I really liked not having to play a superhero. I didn’t have to do any action scenes; I didn’t have to dance; I didn’t have to scuba dive.”

Ok ok, so the McSomething jokes are getting really old and even Patrick Dempsey himself says it’s getting on his nerves, plus McVersace sounds just plain stupid, but Mr. Dempsey cannot escape the fact that he will always be McDreamy.

Aside from being dreamy however, Patrick is the new face of Versace’s upcoming men’s spring/summer line. Patrick was photographed for the ad campaign last month by renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino.

“I was thrilled to be asked to be the face of the Versace Men’s campaign,” Dempsey said. “It was so lovely to work with Donatella Versace, she is an iconic and inspirational woman and a wonderful person, not to mention what a pleasure it was to work with Mario Testino too, one of the world’s finest photographers.”

Donatella Versace added “Patrick represents everything that is great about this collection - he has that confidence, he is completely comfortable in his own skin, which is so attractive. He is the modern man of today and of course looks fantastic in the clothes.”

Desperate Housewives actress Marcia Cross and her stockbroker husband Tom Mahoney went Christmas shopping the other day. The happy couple, who have ten-month-old twin daughters Eden and Savannah, were seen buying decorations at an LA Christmas market, where they picked up a giant toy soldier and a red cape with white fur trim — perhaps for Tom to dress up as Santa in? Of the festive season, Marcia said in the past “We sit around and open presents and eat, I love being at home with my family. That’s just how I am.”

Poor Rachel Bilson — stuck in a queue at LAX and unable to move with a paparazzi pointing his camera right in her face. Rachel however, with her First Class ticket in hand, did her best to ignore the pap and not get too bothered by the fact she was attracting unwanted attention, as she waited to board her American Airlines flight out of Los Angeles.

Grey’s Anatomy Actress Katherine Heigl and her husband-to-be Josh Kelley were spotted running errands in Los Angeles a few days ago. The pair looked happy as they grabbed drinks and some snacks before headeding off to do some shopping.

Meanwhile, Heigl has spoken to Vanity Fair about her Grey’s character Izzie saying she “doesn’t know her very well right now”, referring to the character’s open affair with married man George, played by T.R. Knight. “That was a kind of a big change for Izzie, wasn’t it, after she was so up on her moral high ground,” the 29-year-old actress says in Vanity Fair’s upcoming January issue. “They really hurt somebody, and they didn’t seem to be taking a lot of responsibility for it. I have a really hard time with that kind of thing. I’m maybe a little too black-and-white about it.”
Heigl added that she doesn’t “really know Izzie very well right now. . . . I’m trying to figure her out and keep her real.”

An adorable looking Christina Ricci was pictured recently running errands in Los Angeles with a pal. Ricci, 27, didn’t mind the presence of the paparazzi and chatted away on her Blackberry while clutching her big bag. Although I don’t love the haircut, it really suits her and makes her look really young and cute. And the outfit too, it’s simple and casual, but looks totally cute on her! I can’t wait for Christina to do more movies — her next movie is Speed Racer, which will hit cinemas sometime next year.

Avril Lavigne just doesn’t seem to give a hoot about anything or anyone — not even her dear fans. Avril turned up over an hour late to a free gig in her native Canada - leaving scores of young fans waiting in the snow.

Avril, 23, was due to take the stage at 1pm for an outdoor concert to celebrate the opening of a Best Buy store in Burnaby, Canada, but didn’t show up until after 2pm, according to reports.

The audience began to walk out after the singer left them waiting for over an hour in the freezing weather conditions. Many of the unhappy fans - who were mostly teenagers - had already queued for several hours to take their places for the gig.

Geri Halliwell aka Ginger Spice has apologized to fans for leaving the girl group in the middle of a world tour back in 1998. An emotional Geri, who wore an updated version of her famous Union Jack dress (above) at their first show in Vancouver a few days ago, says “I would like to say a big sorry to all the fans… especially those in America. I walked out on you as well as the girls. You never got to see us as as five-piece… this is my opportunity to make it up to everyone. Thanks for the second chance.” Mel B aka Scary Spice added “All is forgiven, the five of us are back and ready to rock your world.”

Desperate Housewives actress Teri Hatcher has spoken out about the strike and how co-star Eva Longoria was “upset” with how she received taunting from angry writers, who felt she and her co-stars should have joined them on strike, when she showed up with Pizza for them. Teri, who was recently spotted pumping gas in Hollywood whilst texting on her Blackberry, says “She was upset. It’s a very difficult position to be in… We support the writers and the issues that they’re fighting for… But we also have contracts and our union says that we have to go to work. We can picket when we’re not filming, like, we can join them and have solidarity, which we do - which is what her gesture was with the pizza, and unfortunately it wasn’t received well… They were chanting a lot of intense things about all of us.” Teri added, “I support the writers 100%. I don’t think the writers are unreasonable in anything that they’re asking for.”
