She got lucky!! Nicole Richie served only 82 minutes of a four-day sentence at Lynwood. Accompanied by her lawyer and boyfriend Joel Madden, Nicole entered the jail in Lynwood, Calif., at 3:15 p.m. for booking, listed at 5′1″ and 105 lbs. She was processed into the system and released at 4:37 p.m., a sheriff’s statement said. “Miss Richie was cooperative during the process,” the statement said.

The statement also said she was released “based on her sentence and federal court guidelines.” Under the current sheriff’s policy, non-violent female offenders sentenced to 30 days or less are booked and released within 12 hours.

Nicole was apparently “treated in the same manner as other inmates with a similar sentence,” the statement said.

Ryan Phillippe is reportedly on edge over ex-wife Reese Witherspoon’s new love interest, Jake Gyllenhaal US Weekly reports. “Ryan is pissed about Jake,” a Phillippe friend says, adding that Ryan told Reese “he didn’t want ‘that guy’ around their kids and then made some crude Brokeback Mountain remark.” A friend of Reese’s says, “Reese doesn’t have Jake spend the night when the kids are around.”

Though Ryan may be angry that Reese is moving on, his feelings for Aussie actress Abbie Cornish are strong. A source says, “They have been hanging out [again] since June.” On August 5, the pair were seen strolling together in L.A.’s Franklin Canyon Park.“They were laughing,” says an onlooker, “and obviously enjoying themselves.”

Kate Hudson is currently filming her new movie Bachelor No. 2 in Boston and is making sure she has enough free-time to spend with her son Ryder, 3, and new boyfriend Dax Shepard. Hudson, 28, told Harper’s Bazaar recently that maintaining her relationship with ex-husband Chris Robinson was key. “For both Chris and me, our main focus is, and was, Ryder. And happy parents, happy baby,” she says. “Therefore, I love Chris to pieces.”

Jessica Biel may have landed the “hottest” bachelor in town, but her pals aren’t impressed with Justin Timberlake, branding him “arrogant and rude.” A source says, “He’s arrogant, and his pals adapted to that a long time ago.
