Nicole Richie opens up in the latest issue of Nylon magazine about drugs, fame and being a role model:

On her celebrity status:
“I don’t have a clue why I’m famous. I didn’t make myself famous… You’re doing it. I think people just want to say, ‘Oh, she doesn’t have a job she doesn’t do anything.’ They get off on that. But I do have a job, like everyone else.”

Oh her past drug use:
“When I pictured heroin, I pictured some crazy crackhead with no shoes under a bridge. You never think that is going to be you. And it never was me. I was never under a bridge, and I always had shoes.”

On being a role model:
“I don’t walk around pretending that I’m perfect, so I don’t think anyone should hold me to that. The dangerous thing is that there are 16, 17, 18 year olds that people consider to be role models. I’m so happy I wasn’t famous back then. You’d think I was the f***ing devil.”

Nick Lachey and desperate-for-fame girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo were spotted getting hot and heavy in the hot tub, on the balcony of a rented villa in Mexico, a few days ago. The photographers snapped Minnillo dropping her towel, exposing herself, and getting into the hot tub with a naked Lachey. I would call these pictures scandalous, if it weren’t for the fact that it’s so obvious Nick and Vanessa knew the paparazzi were there. They were photographed earlier in the day, on the beach, posing. And in the top right picture, Nick appears to be looking right at the pap. They’re loving the attention - especially Vanessa, who is so desperate for fame that I actually believe she tipped off the paparazzi of their whereabouts and decided to get naked in front of the snappers. It’s sad that she feels the need to be scandalous in order to become famous. Nick, what a downgrade — you would never see Jessica Simpson doing something like this.

Britney Spears is one huge, unappreciative, insensitive brat. Yesterday afternoon, Britney strolled up to her mom, served her papers saying she should stay away from her sons, and walked away looking proud, leaving mom Lynne stunned and upset. Website X17 writes: “Our sources tell us that the paperwork is complete and that Britney is claiming her mother is abusing prescription pain medication and that she should be kept away from Sean and Jayden.” WHAT? Abusing prescription pain medication is worse than Britney’s late night’s out getting completely stoned and wasted? She was in rehab for goodness sake. Team Lynne all the way!
