Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling to elope?

Gosling and McAdams split briefly this year after becoming engaged. The lovers weren’t able to stay apart, though, and are now as in love as ever. According to a source for Life & Style Weekly, they’re back in the marrying mindset as well. The insider said, “Ryan didn’t have to repropose. He and Rachel just agreed it was time to think about getting married again because they had worked out their problems. Ryan says he’s thrilled that Rachel is wearing her engagement ring again, which Ryan gave her early in 2005. It was always a secret engagement, and they will never confirm it publicly, but it’s back on, and they’re happy again.”

Ryan is eager to get a move on with the nuptials and wants to avoid the pressure of an elaborate wedding. He’s decided instead to elope. Says the source, “Ryan says they’re looking for a good time to slip away and do it and he’s even said New Year’s might be the perfect time for him and Rachel to make things permanent. Starting a family and sharing their lives together is so much more important to them than which magazine they can sell their wedding pictures to.”

In an attempt to maintain their low profiles, the lovebirds are planning on staying away from the celebrity hubs of New York and Los Angeles. Instead they are now looking for a home in Toronto.

Christina Aguilera Tricked Into Wearing Fur

Anti-fur advocate Christina Aguilera is furious with designer Roberto Cavalli after he tricked her into wearing real fur onstage. The Italian couturier is designing all the outfits for the singer’s current world tour, and was reportedly instructed by Aguilera not to include any real animal fur.

But Cavalli admitted to magazine Women’s Wear Daily he sent her a stole made from real white fox fur, which she subsequently slipped on to perform gigs in Europe.

Aguilera was tipped off by PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals) vice president Dan Mathews, who sent her an email with a link to a video showing foxes getting killed by anal electrocution for their fur.

The singer quickly replied, saying she was “very upset” insisting she “only ever wears fake fur”. She has now replaced the stole for a fake fur version, in time for gigs in Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic this month.

Jail Time for Nicole Richie?

Nicole Richie could be on her way to jail if she’s found guilty of driving under the influence following her arrest on Monday because she already has a previous DUI conviction. The socialite admitted to highway patrol officers she had taken Vicodin and smoked marijuana before driving the wrong way on a Burbank, California, freeway, and that confession could land her behind bars.

News website TMZ.com has uncovered four-year-old court documents that reveal the star pleaded no contest to driving under the influence in 2002. Under California law, if Richie is convicted of DUI as a result of her latest arrest, a judge must impose a mandatory jail sentence of five consecutive days.

Richie was given three years probation for her 2002 DUI conviction and had her license suspended for one year. Six months later, Richie was arrested for possession of heroin and for driving with a suspended license.
