Celebs have tried everything in the book to make them perfect on the big screen but looking bigger on camera is now the least of their worries. With the introduction of high-definition television (HDTV) pictures the A-listers are now more worried about their acne than the answer to the usual ‘does my bum look big in this’
The Channel 5 newsreader Kate Gerbeau said “HDTV is not going to be forgiving in any way. Basically, if you’ve got bags under your eyes or wrinkles, you’re not going to be able to get away with it any more. For the last few weeks in our makeup department we’ve started experimenting with make-up for HDTV.
One of the big things is we’ve been using an airbrush to apply the foundation, which looks like a dentist’s drill.”

Nick Lachey: King of Pain.
Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson were America’s 21st century sweethearts. But when the cameras stopped rolling, the reluctant star was left all by himself.
How do you know when your marriage is over?”
Nick Lachey is sipping a glass of merlot in New York’s Peninsula Hotel, his chair pushed several feet away from the table, his back to the room. It is the first warm day of March, but Lachey is spending it indoors. He has already eaten a cheeseburger and fries, and now he is sinking deeper into his seat, drinking a second glass of wine to take the edge off, which no one would begrudge him, given the circumstances.
“I’ll tell you how I knew my marriage was over,” he continues flatly, tugging at his black T-shirt. “I was told.”
We all want to know the dirt. We believe it is our right. Because Nick and Jessica did Newlyweds. In their first months of marriage, they opened their lives to the ever-vigilant cameras of MTV, in the ever-prurient milieu that is reality television, and they did so to promote their pop albums, a strategy that actually worked, but only because it turned them into cartoons — him the eye-rolling everyman, she the fuckable ditz — and if they hadn’t made that choice, if they hadn’t been such eager strivers, so ready to talk about their “farting contests” and their “toe jam” on television, then maybe we’d feel a little less invested in the story. But they invited us to the party. And they can’t ask us to go home now. Not when the party has started to heat up.
So here we all are, watching the end of the great American love story that was Nick and Jessica. Lachey, 32, a native of Cincinnati, the beefy, affable jock with benign tattoos and a toothy smile that embarrasses him. Simpson, 25, the buxom, blonder sister in the notorious family juggernaut led by daddy Joe, a former Baptist minister turned relentless pimp for his two vocally challenged girls.
Lachey and Simpson met at the Hollywood Christmas Parade in December 1998, when he was a member of the boy band 98 Degrees and she was a sweet, Southern, virgin songstress trying to distinguish herself from that other sweet, Southern, virgin songstress. The pair met again a month later at a Teen People party, after which Lachey phoned his mother in Ohio and said, “I’ve met the woman I am going to marry.”

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise “joyously welcomed the arrival of a baby girl, Suri, today,” Cruise’s rep said in a statement after PEOPLE first broke the news Tuesday afternoon.
“The child weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches in length. Both mother and daughter are doing well.”
Suri was born in an L.A.-area hospital – just down the hall from where Brooke Shields gave birth to her daughter Grier on the same day.
The birth went so smoothly that Holmes left the hospital within 24 hours. Holmes, Cruise and baby Suri are back home now and doing well.
Suri “has lots and lots of dark hair and big, blue eyes,” says a source close to Holmes’s family. “She’s going to be a beautiful baby.”
Adds Cruise’s friend Kirstie Alley: “Tom does everything 150 percent, and fatherhood he does 300 percent. They’re going to have a great kid.”
The name Suri has its origins in Hebrew meaning “princess,” or in Persian meaning “red rose.”
Last October, barely six months into their romance, an ecstatic Cruise and Holmes revealed that they were expectant parents.
Cruise, 43, and Holmes, 27, had made no secret of their desire to start a family together: When asked by PEOPLE last June if they were planning to have children, Holmes smiled and said simply, “Yes.”
Friends of the Toledo, Ohio-bred Holmes called her perfectly suited to her upcoming role. “She almost seems born for motherhood,” said Oliver Hudson, actress Kate Hudson’s brother and an old pal who costarred with Holmes in Dawson’s Creek. “She’s a nurturer. She’s got mother qualities a lot of girls her age don’t have.”
Cruise, meanwhile, is “a great dad already,” according to his pal, actress Leah Remini. He has two children from his marriage to Nicole Kidman: Isabella, 13, and Connor, 11, whom Cruise and Kidman adopted as infants. Remini told PEOPLE that both kids are “so cool…You can sit and talk to them about life.”
As for marriage, Cruise and Holmes plan to tie the knot soon, Cruise said on the German TV program Wetten, dass..? on April 1. “In summer we want to get married. I won’t let this woman get away.”
Immediately ahead for the new dad: the May 5 release of Mission: Impossible 3. Holmes stars in the recently released satirical film about Washington politics, Thank You for Smoking.

Eva Longoria is a relationship kind of woman – and says she expects to stay with her beau, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker “forever.”
“I’d much rather be in a relationship,” the Desperate Housewives star tells PEOPLE. “There’s no way in the world I would rather be single. Tony is too. I’ve said the only reason Tony and I are going to stay together forever is because we’re too lazy to look for someone else.”
Longoria, who appears in the upcoming film The Sentinel, also sets the record straight on a recent interview with Allure in which she said of her relationship with Parker, “I’m the teacher, especially about love.”
“In the article, I explain it very clearly,” she tells PEOPLE. “How I’m the experienced one because I’ve been married, divorced, I’ve been in several long-term relationships. Tony’s been in one long-term relationship and he’s 23. I’m 31. I don’t know where they got ‘teacher of sex.’ ” (Longoria was married to actor Tyler Christopher from 2002 to 2004.)
Longoria says she’s learned to ignore rumors that she’s dating other men, such as pal Jamie Foxx and her Sentinel costar Kiefer Sutherland. “I don’t really pay attention to it,” she says. “Tony and I are really secure. Plus, Tony doesn’t have a jealous bone in his body. Kiefer is friends with Tony and me. Jamie is friends with Tony and me. Anybody who’s in my life is a friend of mine is also a friend of Tony’s.”
Of having her love life scrutinized, she tells PEOPLE, “It’s a shame because you can’t be private about your life and you can’t be public. If people say, ‘How are you and Tony?’ and I say, ‘I don’t want to talk about my personal life,’ they’re like ‘Trouble in paradise: Eva doesn’t speak about it.’ Then you talk about it, and they’re like: ‘Trouble in paradise: Eva speaks out.’ You can’t win.”

The singer decided to end his two-year relationship with Camilla Boler, claiming that work pressures were driving them apart. Boler has since flown away for a holiday in Spain to recover from the split.”This is a bit of a sensitive matter and very personal. I can’t tell you - I just can’t say anything. I am between a rock and hard place here,” Camilla told the Sunday Mirror. “Coming to Spain is my attempt to get back to some sort of normality in my life. I don’t want to do anything to degrade something important to me.”
Boler was left devastated after tabloid reports linked Blunt to It Girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.
A friend explained, “Their happiest times were when they were writing music together and he serenaded her at her flat in Notting Hill. But his ego took over and has changed everything. It’s hard to recognise him since he has become famous.”

Josh Holloway considered leaving wife Yessica Kumala
Lost star Josh Holloway considered dumping his faithful fiancée (now wife) Yessica Kumala in favor of a playboy lifestyle when he found fame.
The actor, who plays Sawyer, began to develop fantasies about becoming a younger Hugh Hefner as his hunky physique attracted the attention of women the world over.
But Holloway, who is now happily married, was too much in love with Yessica to act on his urges.
He tells PageSix.com, “”When Lost took off, part of me thought, ‘Do I cut and run?’ I still like to look around, but respectfully and with no intentions.
“‘Married, not buried,’ I always say. If I were single?… Damn, I’d have one girl doing my laundry, one shaving me, one bringing me a cocktail and another one coming out of my tent all hung over.”

Nick Lachey partied the night away with his ex-wife’s personal assistant Cacee Cobb. While Jessica is thousands of miles away in Sydney with her sister Ashlee, her trusted PA was whispering into Nick’s ear and dancing provocatively with him in a Las Vegas nightclub. Lachey hired an ultra-exclusive VIP booth for a group of pals at Pure nightclub in Caesar’s Palace and splashed out on $1,800 bottles of Dom Perignon champagne and Grey Goose vodkas. But for much of the night, 32-year-old Lachey was seen whispering with Cobb in his booth. The pair laughed and giggled the night away before taking to the dance floor and dancing with each other.
